The Estate On Federal Hill – Historical Architecture, Contemporary Venue
Just right off Jalan Damansara you drive up a little hill, stands this majestic colonial mansion called The Estate on Federal Hill. Built in the early 1900s, this beautiful 30,000 square feet used to be a residence owned by French company called Socfin Group or Société Financière des Caoutchoucs — a development and management of oil palm and rubber plantations pre-WWI. The architecture of the structure is still very sound and stepping inside feels like taking a step into its vibrant past. The Estate is strategically located just 10 minutes from Bangsar, KLCC and a stone’s throw away from the National Museum. The KL city skyline is a wonderful sight come nightfall.
Host Your Private Event at The Estate
Similar to luxurious holiday villa hotels, the Estate on Federal Hill offers elegance, class, and not to mention, the perfect backdrop for a variety of events. From the classic circular driveway, you can imagine your honourable guests arriving in fleets of luxury cars lining up the brick asphalt drive, walking through the double door entrance that opens to a charming high ceiling chandelier foyer with two stairways on both sides of the door. The marble floor is perfect for ballroom dancing and it certainly saw many dances back in the day.
The original touches have been kept, but all the rooms have been converted to rentable space for events that can house up to 300 pax and another 6,000 square feet located at the right wing of The White House has been earmarked for F&B retail. The charm doesn’t stop there. As you walk across the halls towards the back is a 9,000 square feet garden with the view of Menara KL and the rest of the city of Kuala Lumpur, surrounded by 8 acres of tropical plantation.
The unobstructed view of KL skyline on the hilltop garden backyard inspired Airhost, the property management company to turn the 8-acre estate into a contemporary event space in 2021.
One of the other highlights for this space is the second floor Skydeck overlooking the garden that gives you a bird’s view of the entire garden. It was kept simple with just a bar with high stools but from the balcony you can have an undisrupted view of the city.
